This policy describes how NOOPS (noops.au), operated by John Allsopp and Mark Pesce, collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

When you sign up for NOOPS, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your subscription tier and billing history
- Payment information (processed and stored by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card details)
When you use NOOPS, we may collect:
- Pages visited and features used (basic analytics)
- Your IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and manage your NOOPS subscription
- Send you newsletters and editorial content you have subscribed to
- Process payments via Stripe
- Improve the service based on usage patterns
- Communicate important service updates
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Resend — email delivery for newsletters and transactional emails
4. Cookies
NOOPS uses minimal cookies:
- Session cookie — to keep you logged in. Essential for the service to function.
- No tracking cookies — we do not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).
6. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Member authentication uses magic links (passwordless login) — we do not store passwords.
8. Children
NOOPS is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
